Mass Properties
Mass Properties owned Solidworks is a means to help
we determine what materials are used, the product weight, volume of product
which we design.
Mass Properties displays the properties of the mass of the part or assembly model.
We can assign values for the mass and center of gravity
to calculate the value.
This is useful when we create a simplified representation
of a component, and want to assign the correct mass and center
gravity for the model.

Another section displays the centroid or the assembly together with
mass properties and the properties section.
The step that we must do to display the mass
properties are
Select the item (component or solid bodies) to be evaluated. otherwise
there is a component or a selected solid bodies, mass properties for
assembly of all or part of multibody reported.
Click the Mass Properties (Tools toolbar) or Tools, Mass Properties
we can evaluate different entities without closing the box
Mass Properties dialog. Delete option, then select the entity, and
click Recalculate.
The results of calculations are displayed in the Properties dialog Mass
box, and the main axis and the center of mass is shown graphically
on the model.
We can type a value for the density.
we can also enter values using unit density.
For example, if the parts that we make use grams and millimeters, we can replace the value of density using the pounds
and inches. Solidwork software is to convert the value to the unit when we click OK the document.
